Why "forty one"?

The book of Genesis tells us that God caused it to rain for 40 days, flooding the earth.  A faithful man named Noah followed God's command to build an ark to protect his family and two of every animal.  On the forty-first day, the rains stopped and a rainbow appeared, but many days would pass before the waters ebbed.

But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark,
and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. – Genesis 8:1

Like the rainbow that appeared to Noah on day forty one, Noah's Children is a beacon of hope for families caring for children with life-threatening or incurable illnesses or conditions. Since it was founded in 1998, by Richmond pediatrician Bob Archuleta, Noah's Children has helped thousands of critically ill children and their families. It has been sustained by the generosity of our community.

Two-by-Two, the Power to Make a Difference is the theme of this year's Noah's Children Gala event –
.To help us celebrate is our special guest and keynote speaker, Jenna Bush Hager, author, contributing correspondent for NBC's Today Show and chair of UNICEF's Next Generation.
